Terrace is a Toronto production presented in February 2020 at the Fairview Theatre Space, co-produced by Minor Punctuation Theatre and Zendegi Theatre Company.

Written by Jean-Claude Carrière and directed by Jafar Mahyari, the play was performed in Persian in a translation by Asghar Nouri.

An absurdist comedy with sharp political and philosophical undertones, Terrace brings together a group of characters suspended in conversation, memory, and anxiety—grappling with uncertainty, waiting, and the fragility of meaning in contemporary life. Blending realism with moments of surreal rupture, the production resonated strongly with diasporic audiences navigating displacement and precarity.

Premiering just weeks before global shutdowns in 2020, Terrace now reads as an uncannily prescient work—capturing a world poised on the edge, held together by language, irony, and collective unease.
